The Surroundings

The farm is located at the southern end of the Radnor Forest near the famous Water-Breaks-Its-Neck waterfall and Warren Wood. The field where the cabins and wild camping are located offers fine views of the surrounding hills, all the way to the Brecon Beacons. It also offers unique access to the beautiful tranquil landscape of the Radnor Forest via two bridleways. These connect with the splendid network of public rights of way that traverse the Forest, and the vast areas of open access land. In addition, there is a Byway Open To All Traffic (BOAT) which forms part of the ancient Cistercian Way and crosses the forest from south to north.

Most of the adjacent forest, or fforest, is not woodland but part of an ancient open upland hunting ground where today visitors can observe a multitude of rare birds, fauna and upland flora in silence. It is also an excellent place from which to observe the night sky. In fact all the Community Councils which encircle the Radnor Forest are working together on registering the area as a Dark Sky Community Area with the International Dark Sky Association.
